BBC to Launch iPlayer Channel on Wii

Written by a WiiTalk member on Friday, 13 November 20096 Comments

It has been announced today (Friday 13th November) that the BBC intend to launch a dedicated iPlayer Channel for the Wii on November 18th 2009.

No doubt we shall all receive a message from Nintendo inviting us to download the channel to our main screen for free. This was always promised from the moment that the BBC first made the iPlayer website Wii-compatible.

Unfortunately the Internet Channel update earlier this year stopped the iPlayer from running, but now the BBC have cured all previous problems. Hopefully it’ll run a little more smoothly as well, but only time will tell!
