House of the Dead: Overkill (Wii) - due out February!

Sega gives its zombie blaster a modern makeover - at last!!!

UK Developer Headstrong have dumped the bright colour palette at last and opted for a much darker look for this latest outing of an aging franchise. Yes, HotD has finally grown up!

It is, of course, another Zapper-compatible on-rails shooter, as this is what the Wii was made for! This time it has been modelled very much on those wonderful Tarantino-esque Grindhouse classics, complete with terrible acting and corny scripts. The tongue-in-cheek humour of the previous outings is as strong as ever, just a lot more British. The zombies are as diverse and grotesque as ever, and include fat guys and conjoined twins - all the more to blast to pieces!

I’m sure this will feature very highly on many people’s wishlist in the New Year, especially as they tire of war games again.

Thanks for the article; much appreciated.

But please note that The House of the Dead: OVERKILL is due for release in February and not January.

Brilliant, loving the ‘grindhouse’ slant, makes the game seem a lot more ‘tounge-in-cheek’ as mentioned.

Though it is coming out at the same time as some other big players so may be missed out on.

Many thanks to Martin for the release update. I’ll amend our records.

Looking forward to this game very much!

I also am looking forward to this. I have Ghost Squad and I’m up for a horror-themed lightgun game that’s more arcade-like than Umbrella Chronicles was.

Nice seeing a vendor rep in here as well!
