Pinball Hall of Fame - Williams Collection (Wii) - due out March 2009! HONESTLY!!!

Written by a WiiTalk member on Wednesday, 18 February 20099 Comments

Crikey, this game has had more scheduled release dates than any other I can think of, but hopefully, this time it’s for real. March, they’re saying. March, I’m buying. Or there’ll be trouble!

Pinball Hall of Fame is supposed to be a series of games, with each issue based on one pinball company’s tables. First we had Gottlieb, and now, quite a while after the rest of the world, we are finally getting Williams.  There should be more to follow in time.

As with Gottlieb, we are given a choice of 10 tables to play, with Challenge, Multiplayer Tournament, Practice or Freeplay modes. The controls are brilliant, as anyone who already has the Gottlieb collection will testify, although the fact that there are only two camera modes in this game is a little disappointing. “Static” shows you the perspective of the player standing in front of the table, and “dynamic” automatically zooms into the ball action as it moves around the table.  An overhead static view would have been appreciated, but I’m not going to complain at this late stage!

Obviously it would help if you are a pinball fan, but if you fancy a bit of nostalgia - a trip down memory lane to see what we did to amuse ourselves before the days of arcade machines, then maybe give this game a try?  So anyway, here are some screenshots of a few tables, plus a quick gameplay video for your enjoyment.

March? When March and who says? I thought it was going to be May, but I’ll settle for earlier! I’ve had a pre-order on GAME since the last confirmation by System 3. Totally jazzed for this. I can already anticipate the pinball tournament threads…

N-Gamer magazine says - the April issue, which I was reading today. I’m being as optimistic as I dare to be. If we keep publicising the release date, sooner or later, we’ll be right! :-D

Yes, I know the feeling. It’s not looking good for March, admittedly, but Sean and I are still optimistic for April. We know the release is fairly imminent, but this game has had more false release dates than I’d care to remember!
